A missions conference invited Rob to speak on this theme. He decided to teach briefly everything he learned as a missionary about staying alive relationally, financially, and spiritually. This booklet is ideal for anyone thinking about becoming a missionary who doesn’t want to lose the vital connection to life.
Rob almost taught a pastors’ conference in Uganda about how to study and teach the Bible but then he couldn’t make the trip. So he wrote this book. It covers studying one verse of the Bible, a whole paragraph, interpreting the results, applying the principles derived from study, how to put together a message. It contains practical help on developing one’s life together with God in the Bible, in prayer, and in the Holy Spirit. Available also in French and German.

This is an excellent book! It is interesting, short, succinct and right-on about how to study the Bible. Even if you are not planning to be a teacher of the Bible, the ten short chapters will help anyone to read and study the Bible with greater understanding and pleasure. I bought two recently, have given away one to a lady who wanted to know how to read the Bible, and am going to give away the other to another friend who wants to know what's in the Bible. I am ordering ten more to use with my women's Bible study group. I plan to make a ten week study out of it - reading through each chapter aloud with the group, and practicing the suggestions Rob gives for getting the meaning of the passage. I highly recommend this book.
